High Performance Exhaust Systems

Chimney Design Solutions, Inc. represents the leading manufacturers of high performance exhaust systems for engines, generators, turbines and cogeneration systems. For your specific project, please contact our design team to discuss.

When specifying high performance exhaust systems always require that the submittal confirms that the shop drawings’ proposed exhaust system complies with the engine manufacturers’ listing and written instructions and that the exhaust system safely exhausts the engines, generators, turbines and cogeneration systems.

PRODUCTS:

ENGINE OR GENERATOR EXHAUST

Applications:

UL 2561 1400°F Chimney is typically specified for engines and generators where temperatures do not exceed 1400°F continuous and pressures do not exceed 90″W.C. These exhaust systems are designed in accordance with the ASHRAE Steady-State Chimney Design Equations and the engine or generator manufacturer’s written instructions. The exhaust system is typically specified with a 316L or 444 stainless steel inner wall, a stainless steel outer jacket, and at least 1″ inch of fiber insulation. Where human-safe skin temperatures are needed, a heat shield may be specified.

TURBINE OR COGENERATION SYSTEM EXHAUST

Applications:

To ensure longevity of a turbine or cogeneration system exhaust system, the exhaust system shall be tested and listed to UL 103, Standard for Factory-Built Chimneys for Residential Type and Building Heating Appliances, and UL 1738, Standard for Venting Systems for Gas-Burning Appliances, Categories II, III, and IV. These exhaust systems are designed in accordance with the ASHRAE Steady-State Chimney Design Equations and the turbine or cogeneration system manufacturer’s written instructions. The exhaust system is typically specified with a 316L or 444 stainless steel inner wall, a stainless steel outer jacket, and at least 1″ inch of fiber insulation. Where human-safe skin temperatures are needed, a heat shield may be specified.
